TALES OF TWO CASTLES

Mountains, castles and legends! - the perfect combination for a full day out!
From magnificent city landmarks to mysterious ruins, Romania is bursting with fascinating palaces and castles to visit.
At the beginning of this day tour, after a short but enjoyable drive from Bucharest, you'll explore a majestic palace, set amongst landscapes that will take your breath away: Peles Palace in Sinaia, the former summer residence of the Romanian royal family. One of the most innovative, modern and beautiful residences of an European royal family at the end of the 19th century, Peles Palace still has the power to astonish the thousands of tourists who visit the site every day.
From Sinaia to Bran, the drive alone will prove to be spectacular, as you climb the windy mountain roads and (optional) visit some beautiful gorges along the way.
After lunch, you'll have a different experience, the chance to visit a medieval castle, maybe the most renowned castle in Romania: Dracula's Castle, featuring towering spires, thick stone walls and a dramatic setting atop a 60 meters high rock in the village of Bran.
Unlike palaces, which were built for enjoyment,  the castles were built for strength and protection. Their main purpose was to withhold enemy attacks and keep their occupants safe. And Bran Castle is one of the best examples.
In the afternoon, after a short ride from the village of Bran, visit Brasov, one of the seven walled cities built by the Saxons centuries ago in the southern part of Transylvania.Take a guided stroll into the lovely pedestrian area, and a sightseeing tour of Brasov by car, including a view of the famous Black Church, the fortifications and some of the guilds towers, the Romanian area of the city and St. Nicolas Church.
Late in the evening return to Bucharest.
